What To Bring


Ratna Ling climate, though mostly moderate, can change rapidly, though rarely below freezing, winter weather can be quite cold. windy and rainy (November – April) with temperatures in the 40’s and 50”s. Please bring clothes that are sturdy, comfortable and warm well as good rain gear. Summers, on the other hand tend to be dry and warm, during the days (85-100 degrees) and then cool down in the evenings (50 - 60 degrees) Hot days are often followed by a few days of marine layer fog that will drop the daytime temperature by 20 degrees. You will need appropriate clothing for the daytime and a light jacket for evenings.

 

  • Summer Season May - Nov. Light jacket, warm hat, gloves, and scarf – even in summer, the marine layer fog can drop temperatures 20 degrees and the nights can be cool.
  • Sun wear - hat, sun block, sunglasses, breathable long-sleeved shirts
  • Winter Rainy season Nov. - April. Heavy jacket,  good raincoat and pants,waterproof boots or shoes
  • Loose, comfortable casual clothes
  • Yoga clothes
  • Work gloves
  • Flashlight
  • Water bottle
  • Alarm clock
  • Slip-on shoes or slippers for indoors – outside shoes are taken off in classrooms & dining area
  • Insect repellant for summer retreats
  • Personal hygiene items
