Dear Friends and Family,
Summer has come upon us with much fanfare this year beginning with our 4th of July celebration. We have also found ourselves knee deep in retreats for the whole month of July, hosting both a 2 week long Kum Nye intensive and a 10 day Nyingma Centers conference that brought community members from the world over to Ratna Ling’s doorstep.
With so much activity, time has been speeding by despite the long days with their blushing 9 o’clock sunsets. At the height of the retreat season and the summer we have the perfect opportunity to put the teachings into practice. We can take a step back, open our eyes, breathe in the beauty of the lush environment and remember to enjoy this time before the days become short again. What has the summer sun brought to your doorstep this year? We hope it is full of blessings and joy!
Best Wishes,
Tara Ristau

4th of July, A Memorable Celebration
The 4th of July celebration at Ratna Ling proved to be one of our best events yet. People from all segments of the TNMC organization Mandala gathered to appreciate the independence of our nation and freedom of religion. Celebrants ate a delicious buffet spread which included various salads, stuffed portabella mushrooms, and of course, cake proudly bearing the American flag. Afterward, inspired speeches were delivered along with a video presentation amidst flower arrangements, shiny stars and no shortage of flags. The day concluded with a tour of the property, specially manicured and decorated for the festive occasion.
